All About Me
Paul Zarfati was born and raised in downtown Tel Aviv and is currently living in Jerusalem with his spouse, Adi, and their amazing Labrador, Shila. He studied Liberal Arts at Shalem College with a double major in Islam and Middle Eastern Studies graduating with honors. Paul has expertise on numerous subjects ranging from the ancient Middle East, Indian philosophy and the Abrahamic religions to modern politics, art, music and Israel’s culinary scene. In his free time, Paul loves to travel the world in search of new cultures, backpack, scuba-dive and cook from his grandparent’s recipes. But more than anything, Paul loves his job meeting new people while showing them the Holy Land - one of the most beautiful and interesting places on Earth. Paul speaks fluent Hebrew, English and Arabic and is taking classes in Italian and colloquial Chinese. His life’s motto: I’ll try anything once!
Holy City Tour
How come Jerusalem is the holiest city in the world? Join me on a voyage to discover the story of Jerusalem and the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. We will visit the highlights the Holy City has to offer while embarking on a journey through 3,000 years of history and culture.
What is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? What are its origins? Why isn't it resolved? Where is it headed? These are only some of the important questions we will deal with, while understanding both national narratives and personal stories of Jews and Arabs alike.
(optional: add a Palestinian guide for extra $200)
Alternative Culinary Tour
My travel philosophy is that the best way to experience a culture is through its street-food. The Holy Land is where West and East meet, Join me on a quest in the footsteps of the locals' dinning habits. We will avoid the touristy places and feast to our heart's content on some of the best food the Middle East has to offer.
